STEP 3 Development of practical ICT-based tools

User-friendly ICT tools will be developed that comprise:

  • Robust and cost-effective sensing technologies that can be deployed with minimal setup in small and large-scale installation spaces;
  • An integration platform with modular configuration for data and software interoperability, inter-connecting sensor networks for sensible environment that aims to improve the range and type of energy-efficient behaviors;
  • A set of software applications and apps for mobile devices and wearables, to enable energy-efficient behaviors of the end-users.

The main idea of personalized MOBISTYLE modular information services is to offer the so called data acquisition bundles where users decide which services they want, how long and during what time, and which data they are willing to provide for these services. To test the attractiveness and ease of use of first developed ICT solution mock-ups, usability testing with the users at the demonstration sites is elaborated. Following the people-centred approach, it is observed what are the GUI applications and main visualization techniques attractive to the users, which are the KPIs understandable to the users etc. This usability testing helps forming the recommendations for improvement and further development of solutions.
